María la del Nidal

Santa María de la Ribera, Ciudad de México - 2023

This mural was my first intervention in Mexico City, painted in Santa María de la Ribera. I wanted to create a piece that speaks about the strength and presence of Latin American women.

I included corn as one of the main elements, as a way to honor it as a symbol of identity and nourishment in Latin American culture. It’s something that connects us to our roots and everyday life.

The color palette is bold and vibrant on purpose—I wanted it to stand out, bring energy into the space, and create a strong visual impact against the urban background. The organic shapes and flowing elements are a way to connect femininity with nature, something that is very present in my work.

I titled the mural María la del Nidal as a tribute to Taller de Producción El Nidal, a space by Mexican artist Jorge Baca that hosted this piece and made this experience possible
